Airport Antics

Okay...so I am going to try something new and see how I can post videos to my blog. The video (s) hopefully I can get two to work, are from the airport the day everyone departed (or were trying to depart). Somehow the kids ended up with two spoons from the Big Picture that needed to be returned to Elizabeth so they could get back to the Picture. While in the possession of said spoons...Ana, Danielle, Tessa, and Katie (Emm and Zach too) had some amusing uses for the spoons. I will try to add a couple of pictures as well if I can figure that out.

...so let me see if I can make this work or screw it up royally...may have to get one of my extended family to assist me :-)

My Expanded Family

This is my first attempt at a blog so bare with me if I stumble and fall a few times.

I have to say that the last three weeks have been some of the most exciting times our family has had. We opened our home to not just one but four teenage girls, sometimes all at once, other times there was just one "daughter." If you had asked me back in early June if we could do this I would have said no, but my colleague Elizabeth asked us to take on more students and so we dove in head first and have not looked back. Our only regret is that we did not have all four girls full time because we have been thoroughly enjoyed our expanded family! Nare, Lusine, Katie and Tessa have been great. They have been helpful, worked hard on their projects (as well as their social networking), and offered lively discussions on a multitude of topics.

We enjoyed our trip to the Great Escape Amusement Park in Lake George NY where we not only went on rollercoasters and water rides but were able to enjoy getting soaking wet just by walking to our cars, at no additional cost ;-)

Our trip to Boston and Rockport MA this weekend was the best. We may not have gotten to Harvard (due to electrical difficulties on the MBTA) but we walked all over Boston and Rockport before retiring to the beach.

Saturday we will send the girls off to go their separate ways and to forge onward. I won't say goodbye but only...until we meet again. You all have touched our lives and as your DOTCOM parents we are proud of what you are learning and offering others. Keeping doing what you are doing, because you CAN make a difference!

Our only question now is...what will we do for excitement next...?
